Age Limit : Ezhava / Thiyya / Billava: 30-49. Only candidates born between 02.01.1972 and 01.01.1991 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for the post.

Scheduled Caste: 30-50.Only candidates born between 02.01.1971 and 01.01.1991 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for the post.

Qualifications :

a. Certificate of Competency as Home Trade Master, issued by the Ministry of Transport with experience as Mate for not less than two years.

b. Certificate of Competency as Home Trade Mate, issued under the Merchant Shipping Act 1958 with experience as Mate for not less than three years.

c. Certificate of Competency as Second Class Master, issued under Inland Steam Vessels Act 1917, with three years experience as Third Officer or Junior Officer or its equivalent in Dredgers.

The Commission advise the Government on all matters relating to civil services referred to it under Article 320 (3) of the Constitution and publish notifications inviting applications for selection to various posts as per the requisitions of the appointing authorities, conduct written test and/or practicKerala PSCal tests, physical efficiency test and interview, prepare ranked list based on the performance of the candidates and advise candidates for appointment strictly based on their merit and observing the rules of reservation as and when vacancies are reported.
