You can serve the Nation in two capacities – as a civilian and as a soldier. No other option allows you such an expanse of experiences

Qualifications :Graduate from recognized university

Pay Scales (VIIth CPC):

LIEUTENANT : - Level-10 - Rs.56,100 - 1,77,500 - Military Service Pay : Rs.15500/-

CAPTAIN : - Level 10A - Rs.6,13,00-1,93,900 - Military Service Pay : Rs.15500/-

MAJOR Level 11 - Rs.6,94,00 - 2,07,200 - Military Service Pay : Rs.15500/-

LT COLONEL Level 12A - Rs.1,21,200 - 2,12400 - Military Service Pay : Rs.15500/-

COLONEL Level 13 - Rs.1,30,600- 2,15,900 - Military Service Pay : Rs.15500/-

BRIGADIER Level 13A - Rs.1,39,600-2,17,600 - Military Service Pay : Rs.15500/-

Age Limits : 18 to 42 years on the date of application.

Physical Standards : A candidate must be physically and medically fit in all respects.

Note : Only Ex Service Officer can apply.

Embodiment For Training: (a)One month Basic Training in the first year of commission. (b)Two months Annual Training Camp every year including the first year.

Selection Procedure : (a)The Ex Service Officers will be screened by the Army Headquarters Selection Board (ASB) held at Additional Directorate General Territorial Army, Integrated Headquarters of Ministry of Defence, ‘L’ Block, Church Road, New Delhi – 110 001. (b)Recommended Ex Service Officers will undergo Medical Examination at Armed Forces Clinic, New Delhifollowed by their Police Verification for final selection.

Type of Exam :Only Interview.

The English raised the Territorial Amy in 1920 through Indian Territorial Act of 1920 and it was comprised of two wings namely – ‘The Auxiliary Force’ for Europeans & Anglo-Indians, and ‘The Indian Territorial Force’ for Indian Volunteers. After Independence the Territorial Army Act was passed in 1948 and the first Indian Governor General Shri C Rajagopalachari formally inaugurated the Territorial Army. It is celebrated with the TA Day Parade every year.
