Your Role and ResponsibilitiesLooking for an OpenShift Technical Support Engineer / administrator / Subject Matter Expert to join us in Hyderabad location in India. In this role, you will help install, configure, upgrade and resolve issues for enterprise customers by providing high-level technical support and sustaining engineering services to maximize uptime and reduce IT costs. You’ll work as part of a team dedicated to resolving issues quickly and efficiently. You will collaborate with our customers' top developers, architects, DevOps engineers, and system administrators and assist our technical support engineers with complex and challenging issues. As an OpenShift Technical Support Engineer, you will also partner closely with application development team. - System administration on OpenShift/RedHat
- Installation, upgradation, configuration setup of Red Hat Open shift
- Troubleshoot issues with worker nodes, maintenance, and scale-out tasks
- Performing Maintenance activities on cluster line performing patching, configuration changes, installing operators etc.
- LDAP sync configuration, adding and removing users and assigning roles to groups/users
- Create, Modify & delete of projects. Assign project specific roles to users/groups
- Assist application team on resolving issues with pods like crash loopback, image pull back and other errors. Assist in implementing best practices to configure readiness and liveness probes
- Create, Modify and delete network policy rules based on customer requirement
- Service accounts management, role creation and assigning roles
- Assign, modify and remove roles (cluster and project) to users and groups
- Monitor registry storage and perform regular clean up. Assist application team in pushing required images to OpenShift cluster
- Create, Modify SCC based on custom requirement and assign to specific projects
- Configure, modify project quotas and limit ranges. Assist application team on issues with quotas and limits
- Perform certificate management when the existing certificates are expired and when needed
- Check cluster utilization and share reports to business when needed. Forecast capacity growth requirement and handle capacity increase
- Perform Daily health check of cluster and fix issues based on observations. Implement and customize Grafana dashboards if required to effectively monitor the cluster
- Backup of critical configuration and DB when needed or before any maintenance activities
- Planning and platform patching and upgrade with Zero downtime
- Customize master and node configurations post deployment of OpenShift to meet requirements
- Implement AD/LDAP sync for each environment and also implement automated sync of the groups
- Post OpenShift deployment configure OpenShift platform to use custom SSL certificates provided by customer for console and application URL
- Monitoring performance of the System
- Troubleshoot the issue and quick resolution
- Should be able to handle first point escalation for all technical and process issues
- Provide technical subject matter expertise wherever required
- Plan and schedule Changes, Coordinating with different stakeholders
- Perform RCA for Major Incidents
- Perform Trend analysis, identify top few incidents and work with respective teams/individual to minimize the incidents
- Participate in business meetings with various stake holders on a need basis
- Effort estimation/reviews on need basis for new projects
- Training of new team members. Able to work on Knowledge acquisition and updates to related documents
- Prepare Weekly and monthly status reports
Required Technical and Professional Expertise- Minimum of 5 plus years of experience in IT Industry
- System administration skills on Red Hat OS and OpenShift administration and management
- Experience with Monitoring tools integrations, especially with ELK / EFK, Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana
- Experience in Source control using tools such as Git with DevOps and IT automation concepts.
- In-depth knowledge in security integration using oAuth and LDAP is a plus
- Expert knowledge in RHEL 7 and/or Linux administration
- Unix and Shell Scripting knowledge.
- Well versed with basic networking fundamentals, Cluster Resource management and Cloud deployment AWS/ Azure/ other cloud platforms, including monitoring systems, logging and security implementation Responsibilities
- Experience working with hosted applications or large-scale application deployments
- Working Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Open vSwitch, Red Hat Middleware, Apache Tomcat, Node.js, Ruby (web frameworks),Python (web frameworks),Microsoft Azure, and .NET
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise- Red Hat RHCSA / RHCE / Open Shift Certification
- 4 to 8 years of relevant Experience
- Tech skills: OpenShift, Kubernetes, Dockers, Linux
- Ready to work in 24x7 support on rotation
- Experience in service management
- ITIL V3 to Intermediate level
