Your Role and Responsibilities
As an OSDB & Cloudera Performance Engineer, You would be involved in various bench marking & collateral activities on Open Source Databases on IBM Power platform.

Design, plan and execute various benchmarks & proof of concepts on Open Source Databases like MongoDB, EDB, etc on IBM Power Systems.
These benchmarking activities would lead to publicly consumable white papers & collaterals. Also engage with clients & developers to resolve defects observed in the process and work on several customer proof of concepts.
The Engineer should be familiar with big data technologies & is expected to work with Cloudera's Hadoop distribution on IBM Power systems.

The work would range from validating the distribution on Power along with involvement in live customer deployments & proof of concepts.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

6+ Years of IT Experience.
Developer strong in C, Java, python; Java performance tuning & optimization
Good understanding of Container ecosystem & OpenShift
Linux performance tuning and analysis (CPU, Disk and Network I/O)
Understanding of databases – like Postgres, MongoDB etc
Big data knowledge of deployment, setup, and performance analysis with understanding of key Big Data key parameter
OS: Linux / AIX

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

Good to have - Experience with Cloudera Hadoop distribution.
Good to have - Understanding of POWER architecture characteristics
