Department Overview

The Asia Pacific Payroll function is responsible for successfully delivering an accurate and timely payroll across all locations in Asia Pacific, and in compliance with local laws and reporting requirements. The Payroll team supports all employees and work closely with other HR functions, control partners and payroll vendors.

We seek a talented and dynamic individual who has a control and compliance mindset with the ability to keep pace with the changing regulatory environment. Reporting into the Asia Pacific Payroll Delivery Lead, you will support payroll delivery for assigned countries within the Asia Pacific region.

Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Assist in monthly payroll processing including review of payroll results from payroll vendors.
  • Assist in monthly, quarterly, yearly regulatory and internal reviews and sign-offs.
  • Assist with the management of funding in Payroll bank account to ensure no bank overdraft and sufficient fund for payroll cycle.
  • Reconciliation of Bank Summary report / Payment Listing and ensure payments are duly authorized and release on time.
  • Review of Tax Returns, ensure Tax Filing are submitted promptly. Ensure Withholding Tax are paid to authority promptly.
  • Perform monthly reconciliation for bank statement, pension, withholding report and others month end reporting.
  • Prepare payroll account journal and liaise with Payroll Accounting team for any accounting matter.
  • Assist in monitoring of vendor KPI and holding monthly post mortem with payroll vendor.
  • Responsible for reporting any control issue on a timely basis to direct reporting lead and suggest with resolutions.
  • Strive for operational excellence and always on the lookout for ideas to increase performance.
  • Maintain an effective customer service focus to resolve queries from employees, other HR functions and control partners as well as external parties such as local tax authority, payroll vendors.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects.

You Offer

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a majority of the following criteria:

  • Knowledge of payroll principles, practices and procedures in Asia Pacific.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of proven payroll experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with payroll tax, social security agreements, or accounting including analyzing processes and controls, planning improvements, leading changes and managing priorities.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, ADP or other payroll systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willing to learn and assist with others.
  • Result oriented, dedicated, hardworking, can work on own initiative and deliver on time with a high level of integrity and flexibility, sense of urgency, attention to detail and quality standards
