Overview: We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee all aspects of our payroll operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll processing, compliance, and management, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy. This role requires a high level of organizational skills, the ability to work well under pressure, and excellent communication skills to interact with employees and management effectively.
Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing: Manage the end-to-end payroll process, including collecting, calculating, and entering data for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Compliance: Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations, ensuring compliance in all payroll-related activities.
Benefits Administration: Oversee the administration of employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other deductions.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate payroll records, including employee information, tax withholdings, and payment records.
Reporting: Generate payroll reports as needed for management, HR, and accounting purposes.
Problem Resolution: Address any payroll-related issues or discrepancies promptly and effectively, working with HR, finance, and other relevant stakeholders to resolve issues.
Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve payroll processes to streamline operations, increase efficiency, and reduce errors.
Communication: Communicate payroll-related information and policies to employees and management clearly and effectively.
Vendor Management: Manage relationships with payroll service providers and other vendors, ensuring service levels meet expectations and resolving any issues as they arise.
Training: Provide training and support to HR and management staff on payroll-related processes and procedures.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll administration, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field preferred.
Certification: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of payroll principles, practices, and regulations, including IRS and state tax laws.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with payroll software and systems, as well as MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to spot errors and discrepancies.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvement.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex payroll concepts to employees and management.
Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
Integrity: High level of integrity and discretion when dealing with sensitive payroll information.
