Qualification  :  The position requires a Ph.D. in Physics, Atmospheric Sciences, Atmospheric Chemistry, or related fields from a recognized University/Institute. The candidate should have expertise in dispersion modeling, receptor modeling or other Bayesian approaches for aerosol source apportionment. The candidate will also be required to participate in field campaigns and laboratory chemical analysis. Expertise in ICP/OES and TD-GC-MS for aerosol sample analysis is an advantage.

Desirable  :  In addition to the minimum qualifications, experience with analysis of hyper-spectral satellite data such as that from OMI, GOME-2, AIRS, MODIS, or IASI is also desirable. The ability to access NASA data in HDF-5 format is a plus she/he should also have good verbal and written communication skills as well as be experienced in the standard computing languages such as C/C++, IDL, MATLAB or Fortran.

Salary :  

Rs. 42,000 per month + 20% HRA (degree awarded)

Rs. 37,000 per month + 20% HRA (thesis submitted)

Age Limit :Preferably below 32 years. It can be relaxed for a candidate with exceptional abilities.
