Applications are invited for the temporary post of I-PDF in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Madras.
1. Co-ordinator: Prof. Prakash Maiya, Dept of Mechanical Engineering.
2. Duration: Initially for a period of one year but extendable based on the performance.
3. Post: Post Doctoral Fellow
4. Qualification and Experience: The applicant must have obtained Ph. D. degree from a recognized university, training in Thermal Engineering with experience in refrigeration technology, heat exchanger design, or system modelling would be preferred. The applicant must have submitted the Ph. D. before 1st August 2021.
5. Pay: Rs. 70,000K
6. Objective and Instructions:
a. INDEE+ Post-Doctoral Fellowship (I-PDF) is aimed to identify, encourage, and support the young motivated bright researchers for doing research in the frontier area of Refrigeration and Heat Pumping Technologies. The researcher position is fixed for a period of three years (non-extendable).
b. The fellows will work under a mentor from one of the four Indian Institutes (host) and NTNU, Norway (lead institute),and it is trusted that the INDEE+ network will facilitate the fellows with an effective platform to develop as an independent researcher. Moreover, I-PDF facilitates the research positions in host institutes with gender equality.
7. Duties
a. The postdoctoral fellow is expected to develop and follow the implementation, commissioning and operation phase of various efficient refrigeration and heat pumping demonstration devices of INDEE+ across India. To facilitate this effort, the fellow will have access to various state-of-the-art facilities in the host institute and the demo sites in India. The fellow is expected to demonstrate enthusiasm and passion for research, intellectual creativity, and teamwork.
b. During the fellowship period of three years, each fellow is required to publish at least one research paper per year in peer reviewed journals of repute on the theme of the research undertaken. The fellows will be encouraged to attend and contribute actively to the technology transfer events, meetings, workshops and other outreach activities targeting relevant stakeholders, dissemination efforts and training activities of INDEE+.
8. Eligibility
a. The applicant should be an Indian citizen.
b. The applicant must have obtained Ph. D. degree from a recognized university, training in Thermal Engineering with experience in refrigeration technology, heat exchanger design, or system modelling would be preferred.
c. The applicant must have submitted the Ph. D. before 1 st August 2021.
Age Limit:
The upper age limit for the fellowship is 40 years at the time of the submission of application.
