Applications are invited for Post Doctoral Fellowship at the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST),Thiruvananthapuram.

Minimum Qualifications:1. Ph.D degree in Astronomy/astrophysics or a related discipline. Ph.D must have been secured within five years of date of submission of the application.

Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D thesis and are awaiting appraisal are also eligible to apply.

Experience in astronomical data analysis. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in analyzing interferometry data.

Experience in programming languages such as IDL and Python desirable.

Applicant should have good oral and written communication skills in scientific English.

Age Limit: 40 years as on last date receipt of application.

Nationality: Applicant should be an Indian citizen.

Fellowship :  Rs.40,000/- per month.

Company Description
IIST is Asia’s first Space Institute and the first in the world to offer the complete range of undergraduate, post graduate, doctoral programmes with specific focus to space science, technology and applications. This unique concept took root in January 2007, when IIST was registered as a Society under the Travancore -Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act, 1955. IIST received the approval of  the Union Cabinet on 26 April, 2007 and it was formally inaugurated on 14 September 2007 by Dr. G. Madhavan Nair. In a little less than a year of its establishment, IIST received the recognition of UGC as a Deemed University under Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956.
