Areas of Responsibility :
- Ability to edit/ rewrite copies, work with reporters on improving story angles, identify ways to improve presentation of the copy and execute all of the above within limited time frames.
- Ability to work with designers to best present a story visually.
- Plan editions - be able to pick the best news stories for the day locally as well as from our national story bank.
- Co-ordinate story and photo assignments, ensure all relevant information regarding assignments are updated daily.
- Online: Contribute towards writing /uploading relevant news updates, trends and stories online - according to news requirements and individual targets.
- Video stories: Contribute towards creating video stories on relevant news updates, trends and stories - according to news requirements and individual targets if any.
- Maintain tracksheets: On routine assignments across various job requirements that can be referred to for periodic overall analysis
Educational Qualifications Required : Graduate / PG / Diploma in Journalism
Relevant Experience :
- Features Reporter with local market knowledge, contacts and clean language skills.
- Strong reporting abilities, and a hunger for exclusive
- Digital Savvy and active on Social Media
- Should be able to write / report on a variety of beats, ranging from police to local government, civic and corporate issues, lifestyle and entertainment.
- Strong linguistic skills and the drive to work long hours without flagging are a must
