Job Description

About the Role

Process Architect interprets business processes and needs and develops specific artifacts such as value streams models to help bridge the gap between strategy and execution.

• Establishes baseline process architecture which includes process discovery and process definition which may involve decomposition of complex business functions into process inventory nodes which are consistent at the process level
• Create blueprints that defines the way in which the various departments in a company are integrated; define end to end customer centric value streams
• Review Enterprise Process Inventory and Process Model content to guide process owners to ensure models are in line with established architecture
• Reviews and approves process metadata (process-level and activity-level) for newly-completed models, and any Post-Factory Changes
• Reconcile Process inventory attributes and relationship to other enterprise inventories and taxonomies (e.g. TRIMS, EUCT, MORS, BCP, Products, COSO, APQC etc.)
• Coordinate a dialogue across all process disciplines, e.g. process librarian, process designers, process modelers, quality assurance and standard practices office to drive maturity of Enterprise Business Process Management framework
• Tracks and analyzes defects and audit reports to identify skillset gaps, training needs and educational opportunities.
• SME on Enterprise standards and requirements, clarifies standard practices and accumulates feedback to drive new requirements
• Handles escalations from the Sprint Teams
• Ensures consistency amongst different businesses by collaborating with other lead architects.
• Responsible for identifying and creating awareness of opportunities for improvement to the Architecture processes
• Proactively reviews inventory for quality improvements
• Assists with LOB process inventory updates, reconcile accurate inventory count and process details
• Supports change-requests for the LOB, Monitors and Approves the Change Control Requests that impact the LOB Models, Decompositions and Merges in Inventory, and Risk Updates ensuring that all facets of BPM Standards for Inventory and Process are maintained
• Facilitates decomposition meetings with business, ensuring process scope is sized properly
• Collects process-level metadata from business (summary, purpose, scope, etc.) to ensure the creation of a process definition that support a quality model
  

Market Skills and Certifications

Required Qualification

• Available for any of the time zone day e.g. 9-5 EST, 8-4 CST, 7-3 MST as required
• A BA/BS degree or higher, or military (supply chain, analytics and/or engineering).
• 10+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: process engineering, BPM; experience in DFSS or process definition, process architecture or business architecture.
• Experience in Facilitation skills such as Helix. Can facilitate cross-functional, complex audiences.
• Experience using object-oriented repository based tools for BPM or Enterprise Architecture definition and documentation. Experience in coaching /mentoring others in architecture concepts.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, adept at active Listening
• Has experience working across multiple businesses and business functions
• Has good stakeholder management skills.
• Works quickly with a high level of accuracy
• Big Picture perspective / Understands level of detail required, distinguishes relevant from irrelevant information accurately
• Deals appropriately with difficult personalities / Performs conflict management, demonstrates consensus building skills, Actively participates in conflict resolution efforts affecting the team
• Has good interpersonal skills and is confident in dealing with business users.
• Normally leads by influence. Able to influence at multiple levels in an LOB, occasionally influences external stakeholders. Accomplishes some objectives through influence. Developing cross-functional partnerships.
  

Desired Qualifications

• Knowledge and understanding of Business Process Management Notation (BPMN) software such as iGrafx
• Change Management skills such as Prosci/ADKAR
• Understands core products of the LOB at a portfolio or product family level, understands and can explain all processes in the architecture, familiar with most of the LOB. Needs assistance in determining who to contact.
• Knowledge and understanding of Rapid Process Automation software such as Blue Prism
• Delivers Results Through Others
• Evaluates the ramifications and implication of alternatives
• Shows persistence, flexibility and resourcefulness to accomplish tasks despite obstacles and distractions
• Build knowledge and relationships with key decision-makers and senior business stakeholder at the Process Owner and GBPM level.

• Identifies need for and performs work beyond job expectations
• BPM certification and/or certification from Open Group Business Architecture Level 3.
• Experience in data analysis and ad hoc reporting.
