About The Role

Gap Inc. Product Management Team is looking for a highly technical Product Manager to join our Catalog team to drive product vision, strategy and execution of our next generation Catalog Services in the cloud.

We’re looking for someone with a passion for customer delight, command on technology, the power of API’s and a track record of driving teams to build successful products.

E-Commerce is the fastest-growing channel for Gap Inc. and Omni-channel initiatives are key to Gap Inc. strategy: strengthening the relationship our customers have with our brands through integrating the digital and physical shopping experience.

Partnering with technical, strategy and brand teams, the Product Management team builds capabilities to support the growth of our eCommerce sites while extending many of these capabilities to our retail stores including Order in Store, Reserve in Store and Find in Store that both delight our customers and provide the company a competitive advantage.

The catalog team is involved in many of these areas, but is primarily responsible for supporting the creation and management of the digital assets that are used across our platforms, channels, and markets. The top the challenge for the team is balancing new development velocity with Product Data API consistency, and improving the architecture to handle the scale of our online, mobile, and store digital transactions.

The Product Manager will work with the extended product team & business stakeholders to identify problems to be solved, quantify the value in solving them, and determine how those problems can be solved via technology. They will consult with domain architects, website business managers, store operations teams, and other Product Managers and then partner with software engineering teams to deliver technology solutions which continuously improve the shopping experiences for our external customers while also providing enhanced capabilities for internal business partners.

We’re seeking a strong technical problem solver with a track record of product innovation, leading complex projects independently and prioritizing features, bug fixes, and technical debt to ensure the health, stability and pace of our catalog services platform.

Partner with technology and business stakeholders to set and track business goals for strategic initiatives across teams

Prioritize a clear & objective road-map, and agile backlog while balancing product expansion, operations & tech debt

Constantly analyze the performance of our Services & API’s, seeking ways to improve the speed of channels and APIs while ensuring the business availability

Identify new opportunities and develop business cases for future projects

Highlight progress through regular updates and product reviews to stakeholders

Manage the agile development process and methodology to deliver requirements on time and with a high-degree of precision

Identify, assess & mitigate risks. Balance the business needs with risk & constraints

Who you are

B.E/B.tech in computer science or related engineering required, Masters a plus

5+ years of experience in product management-related roles and activities; must have owned the creation or modification of key technology capabilities/product areas, ideally for eCommerce or other consumer-centric technology company

5+ years of software development experience, 2+ years of project management experience & 2+ years in Agile Development DevOps

Demonstrated technical acumen; ability to influence and debate solutions with technical team members, to understand technology solutions and potential tradeoffs and to represent technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Data-driven mindset, with proven track record, of managing Services & API KPI’s

Excellent program management, problem-solving and communication skills

Both business savvy & technically deep, to communicate with business leaders at all levels to influence key stakeholders across organizations & engineers.

Strong technical acumen. Can dissect complex technical problems, logic & process
of interconnected data flows throughout business work-stream

Experience collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data from disparate sources in order to drive conclusions and recommendations.
