Job Description

Role Summary

The Professional Services Engineer’s role is to deliver best-in class consulting and implementation services to Fortinet customers. This job position requires deep technical expertise in Fortinet but also in third party security vendor products and solutions, excellent written and verbal and communication skills. The work is mainly project driven, with a fair amount of international travel, and activities to be conducted inside and outside standard business hours.

Responsibilities

The Professional Services Engineer responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Work closely with customers and Fortinet program managers to ensure a successful project delivery.
Be part of project delivery teams for migrations projects where third party vendor products are being replaced with Fortinet solutions, or Fortinet estate being refreshed or upgraded.
Participate to process improvement initiatives in the context of third party solutions migrations, and upgrades.
Deliver timely and high quality services and deliverables during Professional Services engagements.
Support the team or other team members for internal or customer projects.
Write standard Fortinet deliverables, such as LLD, HLD, solution designs, test plans, method of procedures.
Perform remote or onsite installation and configuration of equipment according to design specifications.
Execute pre-defined acceptance test plans.
Provide ad-hoc technical assistance or during cutovers or migrations windows.
Maintain expert-level knowledge in all areas of Fortinet technology, including Fortinet best practices.
Develop competitor product knowledge to support deployments in multi-vendor environments.
Work closely with other Fortinet organizations (e.g. product engineering, TAC),to follow-up on customer’s technical requests (e.g. new features and enhancements, products issues).
Collaborate with other Professional Services teams within the EMEA region and outside.
Support projects inside and outside standard business hours whenever required.

3. Skills and Requirements

Background

8+ years of relevant experience of installation of network and security equipments.
5+ years in a customer-facing role.
Professional Services consultant, technical support, or sales engineering position background.
Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented collaborative environment.

Soft Skills

Strong commitment and self-driven individual.
Excellent customer communication and presentation skills.
Ability to cooperate with a variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.

Technical Skills

Knowledge and experience in Fortinet (NSE4 or above) and third party security vendor products and solutions.
Solid scripting experience (preferably python). Programmer background would be a plus.
Solid understanding of general security and networking principals and technologies such as:

Security Infrastructure

Firewalls, VPN, IPS, Anti-Virus, Web Filtering and Application control.
Networking and management: switching, routing, load balancing, network management, OSS.
Administrator level working knowledge of Windows, UNIX or Linux.
Advanced troubleshooting and problem solving skills.

Competence in writing technical material: design documentation, operations guidelines, workshop material.

Mobility

Ability to travel domestically and international as needed, within short notice.

Education
Bachelo's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related work related experience.
