Professor-cum-Chief Scientist
Pay Level (RL-14 Rs.144200-218200) UGC Scale
Veterinary Public Health (1); Veterinary Parasitology (1): Veterinary
Pharmacology & Toxicology (1) Animal Biotechnology (1) ; Livestock Products
Technology(1); and Veterinary Pathology
Qualification
Essential
i. Doctorate degree in the subject concerned.
ii. Ten(10) years’ experience in the relevant subject out of which at least eight
years should be as Scientist/Teacher or equivalent position in the
(pre-revised)
Pay Band –III of Rs.15600-39100+GP of Rs.5400/ 6000/ 7000/
8000 and two years experience as Associate Professor/Sr. Scientist or
equivalent in the (pre-revised)
Pay Band-IV of Rs.37400-67000 with Grade
pay of Rs.8700/9000.
iii. Good research experience as evidenced by publications
Desirable
i. Ability to provide leadership in the subject/discipline
ii. Administrative experience in a teaching/research Institution.
Note:
i. Requirement of professional degree shall be deemed as essential
qualification.
ii. In case of candidates who hold Post-graduate qualification in other
subject/discipline but have been working in the discipline concerned, additional two years of experience will be required over and above the
minimum prescribed period.
Associate Professor/Senior Scientist

ii. Eight (08) years’ experience in the relevant subject as Scientist/Teacher or
equivalent position in the (pre-revised) Pay Band–III of Rs.15600-
39100+GP of Rs.5400/ 6000/ 7000/ 8000.
Desirable
i. Research Experience as evidenced by publications.
Note:-
i. Requirement of professional degree shall be deemed as essential
qualification.
ii. In case of candidates who hold post-graduate qualification in other subject/
discipline but have been working in the discipline concerned, additional two
years of experience will be required over and above the minimum
prescribed period.

Essential qualification
I. i. Master’s degree with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade in OGPA or
equivalent postgraduate qualification in the concerned subject
ii. Ph. D degree (with course work) in concerned subject as prescribed by the
UGC(MSP)-2009 Regulations (Ph. D relaxable for candidates holding
Post-graduate Degree in Veterinary Sciences, along with one publication in
NAAS rated referred Journal and NET).
iii. NET or at least two full length publications having a NAAS rating of not less
than 4, on the last date of submission of application.
OR
II. i. Master’s degree with 55% marks or equivalent grade in OGPA or equivalent
postgraduate qualification in the concerned subject
ii. Ph.D degree (without course work) in the concerned subject. iii. NET
Note:1:NET essentiality for recruitment to the post of Assistant Professor and
equivalent in the disciplines in which NET is conducted, for the candidates
registered for Ph.D. prior to July 11,2009, shall be exempted subject to the
conditions that;
a. Ph.D. degree of the candidate is awarded in regular mode only
b. Evaluation of the Ph.D. thesis is done by at least two external examiners
c. Open Ph.D. viva-voce of the candidate has been conducted
d. Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work
out of which at least one must be in refereed journal
e. Candidate has made at least two presentations in conference/seminar,
based on his/her Ph.D. work
(a) to (e) as above are to be certified by the Vice-Chancellor/ Pro-Vice
Chancellor/ Dean (Academic Affairs)/ Dean (University Instructions).
Age of the candidate : Not less than 20 years and more than
55 years as on 01-01-2019.
