Avaana Capital is a platform that provides capital and scaling up support to exceptional entrepreneurs, who are leveraging innovation to build impactful businesses in India.

The leadership team of Avaana have decades of experience across investing, scaling up, mentoring entrepreneurs, institution building and policy shaping; and are globally recognized experts.

Over the last few years, we have been a part of the scaling up journey for start-ups such as Delhivery, Urban Company (formerly UrbanClap),Arohan, Darwinbox, Lenskart, and Coverfox. We actively partner with NITI Aayog, DPIIT- Start Up India, CII, FICCI, IVCA and TiE and collaborate closely with VCs and DFIs in the start-up ecosystem.

We have played an active role in shaping initiatives and programs and working with various government bodies on topics such as Womens Entrepreneurship, Start-Up Policy and Central Credit Guarantee Scheme. We have built and steered coalitions of corporates, policy makers, start-ups and industry associations to deliver critical outcomes. As a group, and individually, Avaana members are active in leading CSR programs, chairing Foundations, and driving impact outcomes aligned with UN SDG.

Avaana was established in 2018, to provide an institutional framework to our contributions to the entrepreneurial ecosystem in India. Furthering this vision, Avaana Connect is envisaged as the platform that brings together experts, entrepreneurs, talent, policy shapers and other important players in the ecosystem. The objective of Connect is to :

Offer scaling up support to entrepreneurs, by unlocking access to mentorship, talent, business development opportunities etc.

Deliver capacity building in the entrepreneurial ecosystem

Catalyse and shepherd collaborations with corporates, entrepreneurs, Foundations, DFIs, government, industry bodies etc. to achieve outcomes related to innovation, entrepreneurship development and impact

Conduct research, pilots and outcome measurement exercises on specific topics (e.g., Gender and FinTech)

Conduct advocacy and provide inputs to policy Role description : Support the Avaana Leadership team on multiple Avaana Connect initiatives, including :

Avaana Fellows Program: Working with the Leadership team, and driving the process for identifying and onboard Fellows, working with partners to identify projects on offer, drafting project descriptions and developing clear deliverables for Fellows, regular feedback with Fellows and partners to finetune the program

Avaana Expert Circle: Working with the Leadership team to identify and onboard experts, and manage expert engagement (e.g., matching with entrepreneurs for mentorship, organizing panel discussions etc.)

Partnership opportunities: Preparing project and fundraising proposals, helping identify execution teams for specific projects and driving periodic engagement with partners and potential partners

Managing Avaana network: Being the Single Point of Contact for various engagements of Avaana Connect with the network and ecosystem

Avaana Entrepreneur Support: Working with Leadership to identify entrepreneurs for support through Avaana Connect, helping identify areas for support and managing the quality of engagement What we are looking for in an Ideal candidate :-

Has 5-8 years of work experience. Ideally, some of this should be in a project/ program management role in a large, reputed organization AND/ OR an incubator/ accelerator or other start-up support program

Is entrepreneurial, has excellent drive and initiative

Motivated, and passionate about building a high-impact platform

Is highly organized and has the ability to multi-task

Has professional qualifications from a reputed institution

Has excellent oral and written communication skills

Is collaborative, can work with multiple stakeholders
