Role

This role is responsible for providing overall leadership & managing various Machine Automation Solutions (MAS) initiatives at Emerson Innovation Center - Pune. This position will report to Sr.Director – Automation Solutions

Responsibilities

Provide overall leadership to MAS business in terms of Strategy, Technology, Programs, People & Processes.
Oversee People & Performance Management. Manage hiring & staffing to ensure that appropriate & adequate resources are provided and managed for all MAS projects and programs. Work closely with HR and immediate supervisor to implement development/improvement plans. Identify & provide development and growth opportunities to people.
Oversee Project/ Program Management. Spearheading various MAS initiatives including Proof of Concepts, New Product Development, System Solutions and Sustaining Engineering Support. Actively involved in reviews of MAS project /programs with key focus on Quality, Delivery & Cost, and resolve technical and non-technical issues.
Quickly learn new domain and collaborate with SMEs and other stakeholders to define a solution and deliver it on time.
Establish work processes and drive perfect execution culture across MAS business.
Formulate & track annual budget. Plan & manage capital expenditure and procurements.
Maintain communication with customer, seek feedback and drive continuous improvement to meet customer expectations.
Stay abreast with latest technology in the core and interest in learning new technology.
Build relationship with customer business units and the site Senior Leadership Team to identify new business opportunities. Work closely with immediate supervisor and align strategies with larger Emerson business needs and programs. Develop and implement strategies to strengthen MAS group and increase capabilities in aligned areas.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s /Master’s Degree in Engineering/Technology, is required. Preferably in Computer Science / Electronics / Instrumentation.
Around 15-20 year experience as solutions provider or consultant preferably in automation and controls industry. At least, 5-10 year experience in managing teams. Exposure to cross-functional, multi-cultural, global engineering teams is essential.
