Job Description

Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) invites application for the position Project Assistant

Title of project: Proposal for the development of Biodegradable woven pp/HDPE bags for packaging of 50 kg of cement

Sponsor of the project: JSW Cement, Mumbai

Project position(s) and number: Two project assistants

Qualifications: For project assistants, Diploma (3 years) in mechanical/Polymer or post graduate Diploma from CIPET (2 years) or Candidates with M.Sc. in Chemistry/Polymer can also be considered. In the absence of candidates with above qualifications for project assistants, candidates with B.E./B.A./B.Com/B.Sc with minimum work experience in the same area will also be considered.

Emoluments: For project assistants, Rs. 15,000 pm + 9% HRA HRA.

Duration: One year

Job description: Project Associate will help in formulating the plastic compounds, testing and characterization of the polymeric ribbons and testing biodegradation. Project assistants will operate the extruder and will help in weaving the ribbons to a bag and in testing biodegradation
