Applications are invited for the temporary post of Project Associate for the project titled “RuTAG, IIT Madras”.

Duration: Initially for Six Months, later extendable based on performance.

Preferred Qualifications: BE/ B. Tech in ECE, EEE, EIE, IT, CSE (Freshers & experienced both can apply).

Skills/Experience:

● Knowledge of Instrumentation, PCB, PLC, Sensors, and Actuators.
● Knowledge of Web Development, and Web Server Maintenance.
● Passionate about learning things.
● Have a good command of language (Tamil & English),Knowledge of additional south Indian languages and Hindi will be an added advantage.

Pay Scale: Rs. 21,000 to 25,000 Per month (Based on Qualification /Experience)

Responsibilities:

● Design, Simulation, and fabrication of PCB/ PLC as per requirements.
● Development of control units for the machines/technologies developed.
● Review, collect and write technical reports.
● Willing to do fieldwork (interacting with the technology users, fabricators, design experts, innovators, etc.) on weekends.
● Ability to write proposals for project funding.
● Ability to work on aggregating new ideas for implementation in rural technology.
● Ability to write proposals for intellectual property protection.
● Will be required to provide support to a range of tasks as delegated by the management.

It all began in 1956, when Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Prime Minister of India, was on an official visit to West Germany and was offered assistance by the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany, to set up a higher technological institute in India. This resulted in the signing of the first Indo-German Agreement in Bonn in 1959, for the establishment of an Indian Institute of Technology at Madras.

The first Indo-German Agreement provided for the services of German professors and five foremen, training facilities for 20 Indian faculty members, and the supply of scientific and technical equipment for the establishment of the Central Workshop and 20 laboratories at IIT Madras.
In 1959, the Institute was formally inaugurated by Prof. Humayun Kabir, Union Minister for Scientific and Cultural Affairs. Dr. A. Lakshmanaswamy assumed office as the first Chairman of the Board of Governors and Dr. B.Sengupto as the first Director of the Institute. In 1961, the Institute has declared an 'Institute of National Importance by the Parliament of India.
