5. Educational Qualification & Experience:

a. Full-time post graduate degree M.Tech in Electronics/ Electronics and Communication Engineering/Electrical and Electronics Engineering/Instrumentation with minimum 1 year of experience* in FPGA based HDL Development and 60% marks in the aggregate or equivalent grade from a reputed and recognized University/Institution under UGC or Central or State Governments. OR

b. Full-time graduate Degree B.E./B.Tech in Electronics/ Electronics and Communication Engineering/Electrical and Electronics Engineering/Instrumentation with minimum 3 years of working experience* in FPGA based HDL Development and 60% marks in the aggregate or equivalent grade from a reputed and recognized University/Institution under UGC or Central or State Governments.

c. Candidates with higher qualification in relevant field and experience will also be considered.

6. Field of experience:

a) Essential: Working experience in a reputed Industry/Research Organization in FPGA based HDL development. Having hands on experience in scripting FPGA based design in Verilog/VHDL, synthesis, simulation and test bench development using Vivado/ Quartus/ Libero tool chain.

b) Desirable: Experience on FPGA hardware design, testing and troubleshooting are preferred. PCB Schematic design on Orcad.

7. Nature of Job : To be a part of instrument development team that handles design, fabrication, calibration and testing for ground and space-based astronomy experiments. Candidate should not have any objection to travel to field stations of IIA when required.

The Indian Institute of Astrophysics is a premier institute devoted to research in astronomy, astrophysics and related physics. It traces its origins back to an observatory set up in 1786 at Madras which from the year 1792 began to formally function at its Nungambakkam premises as the Madras Observatory. In 1899, the observatory moved to Kodaikanal. In the year 1971, the Kodaikanal Observatory became an autonomous society, the Indian Institute of Astrophysics.
