Job Role

To provide a professional project management service, managing nominated client projects. Planning and executing client projects in order to achieve the benefits expected Managing risk and cost.
Maximise the opportunity for current and future professional services fees and other revenues by demonstrating professionalism, skill and expertise that adds value to the client’s business and thereby encourages client reliance on nscglobal.
Cross functional resource management and building of close working relationships with Technical Authorities and Designers.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

Ensure that customer’s project management standards are adhered too
Ensure the project as a whole is defined, executed and closed in a manner that ensures delivery to the time, cost and quality parameters agreed with the client
Prepare terms of reference for business review, produce the Brief or Definition Document (PDW/PDR aka PID) and ensure sign off by the sponsor
Identify and manage stakeholders
Define and agree project plan (including financial and quality milestones),associated work breakdown and deliverables (using MSProject or equivalent approved project planning software)
Ensure that financial milestones are mapped
Define and agree resources required to carry out the work and set up the team
Ensure supplier resources are made available
Brief non-technical and specialist management on the project
Ensure the project team has all up to date documents
Identify and obtain any support and advice required for the management, planning and control of the project
Ensure the contract is agreed and changes to contract are managed and mapped to the project plan
Monitor the progress of the project against plan and recommend corrective actions
Provide timely and quality communication to all stakeholders
Report via Project Status Reports on project performance, actual versus planned
Identify issues and risks, develop mitigation plans and escalate to management if appropriate
Continually re assess whether or not the project will meet the objectives and is using resources efficiently
Agree technical review, acceptance test strategy and quality strategy with Business Users and Suppliers and are included in the project plan
Be responsible for project administration and make effective use of the programme office function
Manage project budget, including Capex and Opex, against the financial elements of the project
Manage the production of the Project’s deliverables
Manage project integrity and quality of deliverables
Monitor inter-dependencies between project activities
Resolve client / supplier requirements and priority conflicts
Resolve competing demands for resources at a team level
Be responsible for change control and any required configuration management
Liaise with other managers where the work is part of a wider project, programme or portfolio of change
Liaise with related projects to ensure work is not duplicated or overlooked
Identify further opportunities for nscglobal to maximise earnings through the project by reducing costs and / or identifying additional revenue opportunities, raising these with appropriate staff to progress to order
Identify and propose to management useful tools, techniques and other knowledge developed during the work
Close down project – prepare closure report, lessons learned report.
