National Institute of Malaria Research (NIMR) invites application for the position Project Research Scientist IV
1. Project Title: “Structural elucidation of the protein responsible for mosquito olfaction: a useful target for developing new Insecticide” (Duration 03 years)
Project Human Resource Position: Project Research Scientist IV (Scientist ‘B’ NonMedical)
No. of Positions & Category: 01(SC)
Essential Qualification:1st class Master’s Degree in Life Science from recognized university with two years experience in related field OR 2nd class Master’s degree with Ph.D in relevant subject from recognized university.
Desirable: Having demonstrated track record and research experience in the field of biotechnology, biochemistry, molecular cell biology or any related field of life Sciences. Having at least two first authored publication on in the indexed journal Have high skills in protein purification, biochemical assays.
Duties/Responsibilities: The selected would be responsible for overall management of the project and would be responsible to carry out routine protein crystallization related work, solving protein structure by X-ray crystallography, computational analysis of protein; selected candidate also needs to perform data analysis, presentation, project report, article drafting, and other conceptual hypothesis/idea contribution to the development in terms of vector control.
Consolidated emoluments (per month): Rs. 48,000/- + HRA as per rules

Desirable: The applicant must have demonstrated track record of research work in the field of Insect/mosquito biology, especially functional genomics. Candidate should have two first authored publication in the indexed journal. Have high skills in protein crystallography and related analysis.
Duties/Responsibilities: The selected would be responsible for the overall management of the project and would be responsible to carry out routine protein purification work, protein characterization and activity assays, perform laboratory based bioassays and screening of small molecules/insecticides against protein to understand the mechanism of binding, furthermore; selected candidate also needs to perform data analysis, presentation, project report, article drafting, and other conceptual hypothesis/idea contribution to the development in terms of vector control.
Consolidated emoluments (per month): Rs. 48,000/- + HRA as per rules
