Job Description

National Institute of Epidemiology (NIE) invites application for the position Project Scientist B

Name of the Project: Tondiarpet Oil leak Health Impact Study

Place of Interview: ICMR – NIE, Chennai

No. of posts & Category: 02 (EWS-01, UR-01)

Place of posting: ICMR – NIE, Chennai

Essential Qualification: MBBS Degree with one year Research/Teaching experience. OR MD in PSM/Clinical Subjects from a recognized University after MBBS

Desirable Qualification and Experience: MPH Experience in working in community-based health research Training in spirometry testing Working knowledge in Computers. Able to speak in Tamil Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Remuneration: Rs.61,000/- plus HRA per month

Nature of Duties: Coordinate and conduct community based health research survey Plan and execute participant recruitment activities Coordinate spirometry testing Interpret spirometry values Coordinate heart-rate variability testing Periodic report preparation Liaison with health facilities for secondary data collection and participant referral Coordinate appropriate documentation related to field work. Any other work assigned by the supervisory officers.

Duration: Six months

Age Limit: 35 years
