Job Description

National Institute of Malaria Research (NIMR) invites application for the position Project Technical Support II

Name of the Project: ‘Bio-ecology of Malaria Vectors in endemic and diverse ecotypes (urban, coastal and riverine) in Tamil Nadu’

Duration: One year, extendable based on performance and project extension

Essential Qualification:
(i) 12th Pass in Science subjects and two years Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) Or
(ii) One-year DMLT + one year laboratory experience in recognized organization Or
(iii) Two years Field/Laboratory experience in Govt. recognized organization

Desirable Qualification:
(i) Field experience in surveillance of mosquito vectors/data collection/ laboratory experiments on vector mosquitoes.
(ii) Knowledge of Computer Rs.18,000/- 30 Years applications.
(iii) Able to read, write and speak in English and Tamil.

Nature of Duties:
(i) Active involvement in field data collection/laboratory experiments.
(ii) Field data recording (digital) and immature/adult mosquito sample Collection.
(iii) Involvement in identification of mosquito specimens, rearing of vector mosquitoes, its maintenance etc.
(iv) Arranging field materials for immature and adult surveillance.
(v) Assisting the team in field surveillance & keeping stock of the materials.
(vi) Any other work assigned by Director/PI/ Superior Officer.
