Description

Kaplan India is looking for a Psychometrician to join the Psychometrics and Learning Analytics team and provide operational support for the delivery, maintenance and expansion of existing testing products. The position will focus on collaborating with data and platform engineers to build and configure assessments and learning management on Kaplan's platforms.

Psychometrics and Learning Analytics are basic to product design and creation and this position will allow candidates to play a crucial role in building the product and services offered in the future. This team enables proper assessment functioning across all product lines and is responsible for algorithm, machine learning and artificial intelligence applications within the Kaplan technology ecosystem.

The Psychometrician will be responsible for developing infrastructure and standardized operating procedures for internal services serving content and business units in areas such as, but not limited to, item analyses, piloting, field test evaluations, test construction, test form assembly, algorithm implementation, etc. The position requires a highly motivated, driven and creative individual, able to multi-task independently under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with Senior Psychometricians on statistical analyses and directing research projects
• Collaborates with businesses to develop instructional objectives and test items
• Ensures quality control of data and analysis, results interpretation, and reporting.
• Conducts all aspects of operational work related to testing and assessment including data cleaning, calibration, scoring, quality control, and reporting
• Develops programming to automate evaluation and assessment data analysis procedures
• Performs, among others, tasks involving item and test analyses, differential item functioning, equating, scaling, norming, and standard setting.
• Prepares technical reports and related documents
  
  

Requirements

• PhD Degree in statistics, psychometrics, data analysis or related subject
• 2 years experience of working in an academic and/or non-academic organization (e.g. private/public company, administrative staff at educational organization, etc...)
• Experience authoring technical report writing
• Experiencing writing data cleaning, statistical analysis and psychometric evaluation code in R and conducting independent and concurrent item calibrations in flexMIRT(or IRTPro),and desired analysis experience with either SPSS or SAS and a scripting language such as Python or C/C++
• Knowledge and experience in SQL
