Requirements

• Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies
  
• Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness • Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms
  
• Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation
  
• Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power
  
• Perform cost and scenario analysis, and best-in-class benchmarking
  
• Assess, manage and mitigate risks that could affect the business
  
• Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers
  
• Determine quantity and timing of deliveries
  
• Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand
  
• Prepare purchase orders and send copies to suppliers and to departments originating requests.
  
• Determine if inventory quantities are sufficient for needs, ordering more materials when necessary.
  
• Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimize customer service.
  
• Contact suppliers in order to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems
  
• Review requisition orders in order to verify accuracy, terminology, and specifications.
  
• Prepare, maintain and review purchasing files, reports and price lists.
  
• Track the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders.
  
• Monitor in-house inventory movement
  
• Monitor contractor or service provider performance, recommending contract modifications when necessary
  
• Generate and implement cost reduction opportunities to meet annual cost savings objectives
  
• Provide procurement information, including analysis of price and market trends and lead time updates for supply chain
  
• Accurate and timely maintenance of item master, monthly open orders report, and purchase price variance reports
  
• Achieve annual cost reduction targets
  
• Meet with suppliers to discuss performance metrics, to provide performance feedback, or to discuss production forecasts or changes 
  
• Monitor supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements
