Department Overview

The MarkitSERV Testing group’s primary focus is on the testing phase of the product development cycle. The group also has a responsibility to champion quality and process improvements in the delivery of all applications that will be on-boarded on new (micro-services based) platform. Platforms are extensively using CD model and cutting-edge technologies viz Git, OpenShift, Elastic Search, Python, Cucumber Framework, Protractor Framework.

The strategic direction is the global harmonisation of this platform and on-board various applications across the BU on this. QA group is technically supporting cross functional team through an elaborated QA Infra and automation and performance test suite. QA group works across several locations – London, New York, Gurgaon and Chennai.

Position Summary

Works as a part of QA team with members in New York and London as well as Developers, technical architects, product staff and Business analysts to flush out requirements and create test plans, test scenarios, test cases and automation of test cases and create detailed test reports. Work with technical architects, infrastructure team to set up QA environments and establish required infrastructure for them

A good understanding of BDD and financial background is preferable as the individual will liaise with technology leads, development teams, Business Analysts, Product Development, Product Managers, Operations/Evaluators and application support teams

Duties & Accountabilities

Input into review of requirements and specification documents
Identify, design and write functional test cases
Execute manual tests and automated regression tests
Review test results and report defects using JIRA
Report on test progress and quality

Business Competencies

Education and experience

University Graduate with a Computer Science or an Engineering degree.
Experience of software testing desirable
Basic understanding of testing methodologies is an advantage
Good exposure of working in agile environment and geographically distributed teams.

Commercial awareness

Understanding of BDD test framework is a plus.
