Role: Quality Control Engineer

The Quality Control Engineer is responsible for ensuring that products meet established quality standards throughout the production process. This role involves conducting inspections, tests, and analyses to identify and resolve quality issues, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions.

Responsibility & Deliverable:

• Read blueprints, plans, and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services.

• Perform regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from vendors and outgoing products for shipping

• Recommend improvements to the production process to ensure quality control.

• Educate the production team about quality control concerns to improve product excellence

• Supervise the production process.

• Resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner.

Activities:

1. Conduct Product Inspections:

• Perform visual and functional inspections of products at various stages of the production process.

• Utilise testing equipment and tools to verify product specifications.

2. Document and Report Findings:

• Record inspection results accurately and comprehensively.

• Prepare detailed reports highlighting any deviations from quality standards.

3. Collaborate with Production Teams:

• Work closely with production teams to address and rectify quality issues.

• Provide feedback on non-compliance and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

4. Implement Quality Control Procedures:

• Follow established quality control procedures and protocols.

• Recommend improvements to existing procedures to enhance overall quality.

5. Training and Development:

• Train production staff on quality control processes and standards.

• Stay updated on industry best practices and share knowledge with the team.

6. Root Cause Analysis:

• Conduct root cause analysis for quality-related problems and recommend corrective actions.

• Participate in problem-solving initiatives to prevent recurrence.

Skills Required:

• Thoroughly examine products and processes, identifying even minor defects or deviations. 

• Understand and use testing equipment, tools, and technologies relevant to the industry.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Manage and prioritize tasks efficiently

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and customer service, to integrate quality into all aspects of the business.

• Understanding and managing risks related to product quality and safety.

Knowledge Required:

• Strong knowledge of quality control standards and testing techniques.

• Knowledge of math, data analysis, and statistical methods.

• Microsoft Office, Google Sheets/Docs.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Quality Management, Engineering, or related discipline).

• 2+ years’ experience in automotive/electronics/assembly/aerospace manufacturing industries.
