  • Serves patients by greeting and helping them; scheduling appointments; maintaining records and accounts.
  • Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
  • Optimizes patients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
  • Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient's arrival; reviewing service delivery compared to schedule; reminding provider of service delays.
  • Comforts patients by anticipating patients' anxieties; answering patients' questions; maintaining the reception area.
  • Helps patients in distress by responding to emergencies.
  • Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
  • Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Attend phone calls – both outside and internal
  • Greet and wish patients at the reception counter
  • Enquire if they have already come to the hospital, if not register as new patient
  • Help them in filling the registration form
  • Enter patient details in the YOS
  • Collect registration fees and handover to the concerned person.
  • Provide registration card
  • Instruct newly registered to bring the card during the following visits
  • Provide stickers for patients to do investigations and procedures
  • Guide them to the respective departments
  • Admit in-patients
  • Explain the general consent
  • Explain about room category
  • Explain the estimation given if necessary
  • Take photo copy of ID proof
  • Ask patient to pay admission fees and advance at the cash counter
  • Print out stickers  IP
  • Prepare IP case sheet by writing patient details on the file, filing – estimate, general consent, ID proof, admission report, Billing card, IP checklist, progress note, nurses record, service given to patient , ID band & temperature chart
  • Call the ward and make sure if the room is ready
  • Call guest relation staff and handover the case
  • Take over from night duty/day duty staff
  • File  registration card and room key - Maintain
  • In case guest relation staff are not available, accompany the patient
  • Maintain  register of Admission, key, referral, fever, AMA, linen, OP cash
  • Maintain RCH patient documents
  • Receive courier and make sure it reaches the right person
  • Handle keys – Library, classroom, OPs, IT, Scan, cars, HR,
  • Intimate different departments when asked by HR to intimate
  • Inform doctors and OT staff about cases
  • Arrange food for OT staff
  • OP feedback, birth & death, daily OP, entry in Ibhar
  • Work as cash counter from 12.00 am to 9.00 am
  • Collect OP fees for casualty and other departments between 7.00 pm – 9.00 am
  • Handover to cash counter – cash, swipe machines, bill books
  • Call concerned PAs for estimation for admission at night
  • Maintain OP consultation availability list
  • Maintain referral doctors, ambulance tariff, referral hospitals, duty doctors’ duty roster, staff grievance form, and critical care on call list.
  • Maintain stock  and order ID band
  • Indent required material for the department
  • Receive complaints from different departments and forward to concerned departments
  • Appointments for other consultants
