Application Release & Deployment Engineer

Job - Bachelors or higher degree or equivalent in computer science

At least 4+ years of experience in software configuration management
Experience with source-code control systems: CVS & SVN.
Experience in deployment of J2EE & C / C++ applications.
Should have experience in building, compiling, linking & releasing the software.
Should have experience in installation, configuration and administration of Applications server (Weblogic / Websphere / JBoss).
Should be able to configure the database servers (Oracle / Sybase / MS SQL).
Strong system administration skills (Solaris, Windows, Linux).
Experience in Quality Assurance / Testing the builds & verifying the deployments.
Scripting experience in Unix and Dos.

BIG PLUS

Knowledge of Automated Build/testing tools like ANT, JUnit etc.
Domain knowledge in Finance

NICE TO HAVE

Experience in developing with installation software, e.g. Install Shield, Install Anywhere
Awareness of hardware - Setup and maintain various development and test platforms
Proactively monitor and manage workload
Maintain scheduling requirements
Planning work to machines to ensure capacity is maximized at all times
Setting up the application servers (WebLogic, WebSphere, Jboss) and database servers (Oracle / Sybase / MS SQL)
Setup and administration of software configuration management systems such as CVS & SVN
Manage and operate the product release process
Interact with Development, QA and Operations teams
Communicate with product customers
He/She will be responsible for delivering completed products and should be familiar with known process for release.
Should be able to work as central contact between development and QA teams
Strong familiarity with software configuration management systems/source code version control systems.
Will be involved in QA / testing and performance tuning activities.
Will initiate and monitor unit, regression tests, and compiling and up-integrating submitted code into a release branch in our source control system
Experience in establishing web-based builds status /email reporting.
Delivering shipments to various clients.
Creating patches/hotfixes for Product Update
Maintaining Product releases.
Maintain Product Build weekly & perform smoke testing on the same
