Research Assistant – Gender CentreProject(s) Description: The candidate will be expected to assist with projects for the Gender Centre
which will involve help with collecting and analyzing large scale data sets.
Qualifications: Candidates with a Master’s/PhD in Economics, Statistics, Operations Research and
Applied Mathematics are encouraged to apply. Candidates with a Master’s Degree in Computer Science
and related disciplines, who are interested in PhD in Management and other applied domains, are also
welcome.
Eligibility: Candidates must have a good knowledge of STATA or R. Ideally, candidates will have prior
experience handling large-scale data sets. Understanding of econometric techniques and good language
skills will be given preference.As the faculty members of the Gender Centre plan to conduct surveys in
the coming period, those with prior survey experience are especially also encouraged to apply.
Project
Tenure: The initial appointment is for six months, with a possibility of extension up to one year,
based on performance appraisal.
Selection Process: Selected applicants from the pool would be requested to submit a preliminary
analysis of a curated data-set, along with the accompanying code (including estimation routines).
Compensation: The selected candidate will be offered a competitive monthly salary based on prior
qualifications and experience
