Essential Qualifications: MSc (In Life Science/Physical Sciences or equivalent degree in relevant discipline) with relevant research and microscopy experience . In-depth knowledge and hand-on experience of advanced imaging & microscopy, especially imaging of biological samples would be desirable OR MTech/BTech/BE/ME (or a suitable equivalent technical degree) with extensive hand-on experience in microscopy/optics/advanced instrumentation. Experience with imaging of biological samples would be desirable. 2) Should preferably be comfortable with microscopes and imaging including high-end, cutting edge systems
Experience (Desirable): Experience in operation of high-end confocal, super resolution microscopy systems is highly desirable. Experience in familiarity with coding, working with high-end imaging systems and image analysis would be an added advantage
Principal Responsibility of the position:
a. Candidates would be expected to operate high-end microscopy systems including microscopes like confocal, STED super-resolution, and Spinning disc High content-high throughput microscope (expected shortly). Candidates would be expected to help ensure that high end systems are in working condition and suitably maintained. Candidates are expected to assist in conduct regular training of research students and scholars for imaging.
b. Candidates would also be expected to assist researchers with conducting experiments on a Super-resolution STED microscope, or any other highly advanced imaging set-up as required, and operate the microscopes. Candidates would interface with microscopy vendors and fully assist in the smooth operation of imaging facility to facilitate ongoing and new research.
Salary: Rs. 30,000/- per month (consolidated)
Tenure: Tenure of the appointment is purely temporary in nature. It is for a period of one year with possibility of further extension. Services can be terminated due to non-performance and work satisfaction of the candidate before the completion of tenure also.
