Research Associate/Accountant/SRF/Lab Attendant Job Opportunity in Directorate of Plant Protection Quarantine & Storage on purely temporary contractual basis

Research Associate (RAs)/04 Nos.

Qualification & Experience: Ph.D. or Master Degree with three years’ experience in Analytical Chemistry or Organic Chemistry or Agricultural Chemistry/Chemicals or Biochemistry or Biotechnology or Environmental Sciences.

Desirable: Having the basic and practical knowledge of HPLC, GC-ECD/FPD, GC-MS/MS, LC-MS/MS and exposure to pesticide residue analysis

Emoluments:

i. Rs. 40, 000/- p.m. + HRA (as per applicable rates) for Ph.D.

ii. Rs. 38, 000/- p.m. + HRA (as per applicable rates) for Master Degree Holders.

Senior Research Fellow (SRF)/01 Nos.

Qualification & Experience: Master Degree with two years’ experience in Analytical Chemistry or Organic Chemistry or Agricultural Chemistry/Chemicals or Biochemistry or Biotechnology or Environmental Sciences.

Desirable: Having the basic and practical knowledge of HPLC, GC-ECD/FPD, GC-MS/MS, LC-MS/MS and exposure to pesticide residue analysis.

Emoluments:

i. For 1st & 2nd Year: Rs. 25,000 per month + HRA (as per applicable rates)

ii. For 3rd year onwards: Rs. 28,000 per month + HRA (as per applicable rates)

Accountant/02 Nos.

Qualification & Experience: Bachelor Degree in Commerce (B.Com.)/ BBA Degree from recognized University/ Institute.

Desirable: Experience in dealing account work, working knowledge of computer, MS Office etc.

Emoluments: Rs.15, 600/- p.m. fixed

Lab Attendant/03 Nos.

Qualification & Experience: 10th standard pass with five-year experience in a Chemical Laboratory in handling of chemicals and glassware.

Emoluments: Rs.15, 000/- p.m. fixed (As per Govt. of TN minimum wages)

Tenure: Initially for one year from the date of offer of appointment and the same is likely to be extended.

Desirable: Knowledge in computer applications, data organization / report writing/ IT Management.

Age Limit:

i. The upper age limit for RAs will be 40 years as on date of interview. Age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST/Women candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates shall also be applicable as per Govt. of India/ICAR Rules.

ii. The upper age limit for SRFs will be 35 years as on date of interview. Age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST/Women candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates shall also be applicable as per Govt. of India/ICAR Rules.

iii. The upper age limit for Accountant, and Laboratory attendant will be 35 years as on date of interview. Age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST/Women candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates shall also be applicable as per Govt. of India/ICAR Rules.

Plant Protection continues to play a significant role in achieving targets of crops production. The major thrust areas of plant protection are promotion of Integrated Pest management, ensuring availability of safe and quality pesticides for sustaining crop production from the ravages of pests and diseases, streamlining the quarantine measures for accelerating the introduction of new high yielding crop varieties, besides eliminating the chances of entry of exotic pests and for human resource development including empowerment of women in plant protection skills.
