Research Associate II/SRF jobs in Delhi at NIPGR

Candidates are invited to appear in online interview before a selection committee for filling up the purely temporary positions in the DBT sub-project entitled “Gene Function Analysis Platform for Crops”, under the umbrella project entitled “Advanced Research Platform for Crop Sciences”, under the supervision of Dr. Alok Krishna Sinha, Scientist, NIPGR. The details of the positions are as under:

Research Associate II/SRF

1. Name of Position (1 post): Research Associate II. (Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms)

Eligibility: Candidates having Ph.D. in plant Sciences or equivalent are eligible to apply. Candidates having experience in generating transgenic plants and/or genome editing tools will be preferred. Experience in generating transgenic in rice/chickpea/mustard/tomato will get additional preference. The experience should be supported with documentary evidences.

2. Name of Position (5 posts): Senior Research Fellow. (Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms)

Eligibility: Candidates selected through National Eligibility Tests as mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum number SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated January 30, 2019. Candidates having M.Sc. degree (with minimum 55% marks) in any stream of Life Sciences or equivalent and minimum of two years of post M.Sc. research experience are eligible to apply. Candidate having experience in generating transgenic plants and/or genome editing tools will be preferred. Experience in generating transgenic in rice/chickpea/mustard/tomato will get additional preference. The experience should be supported with documentary evidences.

3. Name of Position (1 post): Laboratory Assistant (Consolidated emoluments of . 17000/- p.m.)

Age: 50 years

Eligibility: Candidates having B.Sc./Graduate degree or three year diploma in Engineering and Technology. Working experience in a laboratory engaged in any field of life science research. Candidates should have working hand experience on handling autoclave, tissue culture media preparation, maintenance of green house and tissue culture related works.

4. Name of Position (1 post): Laboratory Attendant (Consolidated emoluments of . 17000/- p.m.)

Eligibility: Candidate should be minimum 10th pass. Working experience in a laboratory engaged in any field of life science research. Candidates should working hand experience on handling autoclave, glass-ware cleaning, maintenance and cleaning of green house and maintaining plants in green house and experimental field.

5. Name of Position (1 post) : Office Assistant (Consolidated emoluments of . 15800/- p.m.)

Eligibility: Candidate should be minimum XIIth pass. Working experience in a laboratory engaged in any field of life science research. Candidates should have working hand experience on handling autoclave, tissue culture media preparation, maintenance of green house and tissue culture related works.

The above positions are completely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project. The fellowship/emolument amount for the above positions are as sanctioned in the project and as per DBT/DST norms. The initial appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project whichever is earlier and the same can be curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate's performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualification and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The appointment may be terminated any time by giving one month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR.

The National Institute of Plant Genome Research (formerly known as National Centre for Plant Genome Research) is an autonomous institution of the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. The Institute has been established to coincide with the 50th anniversary of India's independence as well as birth anniversary of Prof. (Dr.) J. C. Bose. The formal announcement was made on November 30th 1997. This Institute has already placed India among the major contributors to plant genomics.
