IITB Project Recruitment:Project title: Linguistic activation and bi-directional reading: An eyetracker and electroencephalogram

Investigation

About the project: Typically orthographies are consistent in terms of in which direction they are read,i.e. either from left-to-right or right-to-left. However, some orthography are bidirectional, meaning that certain parts of the text, such as numerals in Urdu, are read against the default reading direction.Therefore, the current propsed study is an attempt to see nature of cognitive resources and neural underpinning of reading urdu where reader has to read right to left in case of text reading and right to left for reading numerals.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:Ph.D in Psychology, Knowledge of Urdu , and EEG is desirable.

Job Profile:Designing experiment, Collecting data, Analyses and writing report.

Pay Details:Rs.47000 + 24% HRA (if applicable) p.m.

General information:The position is temporary for a period of 1 year and tenable only for the duration of the project.

The appointment is for time bound project and the candidate is required to work mainly for the successful completion of the project. The selection committee may offer lower or higher designation and lower or higher salary depending upon the experience and performance of the candidate in the interview.
