Position: R&D Engineer

Role: FPGA/Embedded Software Developer

Location: Mumbai, India

Job Brief:

Techno Sciences is looking for a R&D engineer to develop FPGA/embedded software for the next generation Search and Rescue Satellite-Aided Tracking (SARSAT) technologies. The selected individual will work as part of an engineering team on a variety of challenging projects and activities focused largely on FPGA and embedded software development spanning the entire engineering lifecycle from research to maintenance.

Responsibilities:

• Develop FPGA and embedded software for next generation SARSAT technologies.
• Design and develop robust and responsive solutions using Engineering best practices.
• Analyze system function and performance requirements to support design concepts to create compelling consumer experiences.
• Develop test plans and test software.
• Use technical influence to drive innovation and engineering best practices across the software engineering team.
• Research new technology trends to come up with suggestions and roll out the same.
• Must be self-sufficient. Able to work with minimal guidance.

Requirements:

• Bachelor / Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics & Telecommunications or Computer Engineering.
• At least 4 years of FPGA & VHDL technologies, real-time programming, and embedded software development experience.
• Experience in implementing FPGA code on the target hardware & testing with other system components and software.
• Experience in FPGA Implementation Tools XILINX Vivado, ISE, Matlab Simulink and System Generator.
• Experience in embedded system development using C/C++: dealing with common industry tool chains, compilation, linking and IDE usage.
• Strong programming experience in languages: C/C++, C#, python.
• Understanding of RF and digital signal processing.
• Experience in handling Lab equipment (Spectrum analyzer, Logic Analyzer, Oscilloscope, Function Generators, JTAG, and In-circuit de-buggers).        
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to work across with geographic locations and across multiple time zones.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Experience with software defined radio, Xilinx ultrascale, PLL/DDC/Mixers, ADC/DAC, GPU programming is a plus.
