Name of Position I: Research Officer – Geoinformatics (Period: November 2021 to April 2022 – likely to be extended until June 2022 based on performance and requirement)

Qualification: Postgraduate (M.A./M.Sc./M.Tech./M.Phil.) in relevant disciplines (Geoinformatics, Disaster Management, Climate Change, Geology, Geography, among others with demonstrated competency in Geoinformatics). Experience of working in Social Science Research is Preferred
Location: Mumbai (With Travel to Chennai)
Language Proficiency: English, Marathi and Hindi (Tamil Preferred)
Job Requirement:
- Knowledge, understanding and aptitude for application of Geoinformatics in disaster Risk assessment, Geo-statistics and Urban Resettlement Processes.
- Demonstrated competency and experience of: working with GIS & Image Processing Software; handling and processing different geospatial data particularly microwave data; spatial analyses; data collection and procurement (from primary and secondary data
- sources)
- Willingness to play a supporting role in research and administration related tasks as per project requirements
- Aptitude for reporting and documentation
- Should be able to join immediately (November 2021)
Key Roles and Responsibility:
- Data collection, procurement and analysis for quantifying physical processes in resettlement contributing to flood risk
- Conceptualizing and Operationalizing the Geo-Spatial Component of the Study inclusive of conducting literature, methodological and theoretical reviews
- Drafting reports, presentations and documents
Name of Position II: Research Officer – Social Sciences) (Period: November 2021 to April 2022 – to be extended for 3 years in total based on performance and requirement)
Number of Positions: 1
Qualification: Postgraduate in relevant disciplines (Disaster Management, Climate Change, Social Sciences, Public Policy, Development Studies, among others with demonstrated competency in Social Science Research Methods and Approaches (Both quantitative and qualitative). Experience of working with geo-spatial data is preferred.
Location: Chennai/Mumbai (First six months largely in Chennai and with an extended tenure the candidate is expected to spend approx 70% time in Mumbai and 30% time in Chennai)
Language Proficiency: English and Tamil (Marathi and Hindi Preferred)

Consolidated Remuneration: Rs. 35,000/- to 50,000/- per month fixed based on qualification and experience
