Project: “Small area estimates of COVID-19 disease in India: What we missed”
i. Applications are invited for the following Mumbai-based ad-hoc posts for the project at the International Institute of Population sciences (IIPS)
1. Position: Research Officer (One Position)
2. Essential Qualifications:
A. Master’s degree awarded in Statistics/Population Studies/Biostatistics and Demography/Health Statistics.
B. Knowledge of statistical software: Excel/R software/STATA/SPSS/GIS.
C. One article/responses /comments/ correspondence published in a peer-reviewed (reputed) journal related to demography/health sciences/ public health.
D. One year experience in statistics/applied statistics/ population studies.
3. Desirable Qualifications:
a. Experience in working with large scale data Census of India, NFHS, LASI etc.
b. Experience in application of GIS, remote sensing, extraction of spatial data etc.
c. Excellent command in handling statistical and demographic data analyses etc.
4. Specific tasks:
a. Works on creating variables and deliverables and ensures timely submission.
b. Systematic review, meta-analysis and data compilation.
c. Data curation from large scale surveys: NSSO, NFHS, LASI etc.
d. Competency in advanced statistical analysis for preparing variables of interest and tables and figures.
5. Duration: Three months (likely to be extended till the tenure of the project)
6. Salary: Rs. 40,000/- per month (Consolidated)
