Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for filling up of the following Regular Position on Direct Recruitment at Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS),Hyderabad, an autonomous body under Ministry of Earth Sciences, Govt. of IndiaINCOIS is filling up of the following Scientist ‘B’ vacancy as per the details given.

1. Name of the Post: Scientist - B

2. No. of Posts & Reserved for: One (UR)

3. Details of Position: This is a regular position made on Direct Recruitment

4. Essential Qualification: Master's degree in Marine Biology or M.F.Sc or equivalent with at least 60% of marks (First class) in the qualifying degree level from a recognized University.

5. Desirable Qualification: M.F.Sc. in Fishery Resource Management with at least 60% of marks (First Class) from a recognized university.

6. Desirable Experience : Proven record of experience in Remote Sensing and GIS for Fisheries Management, Fish Stock Assessment, fishery capture technologies or hands-on with GIS and Image processing software or experience in R & D in marine capture fisheries.

7. Job Responsibilities : Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to

(1) R & D in marine biology/ fisheries applications,

(2) teaching,

(3) generation & dissemination of operational forecast/advisories,

(4) collection & analysis of in-situ time series data from estuarine and marine environments,

(5) usage of remotely sensed data for fisheries applications, etc,

(6) Fishery Resource Management, fish stock assessment and water quality analysis to study fish habitat suitability

(7) participation in cruises, user interaction workshops, etc and any other jobs assigned from time to time.

8. Pay & Allowances : Level 10 of the Pay Matrix (Rs.56,100 - 1,77,500) and allowances as per INCOIS rules.
