National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) invites application for the position Scientist-C (Medical)

Project entitled: "Model Rural Health Research Unit"

No of post: 1 post Unreserved

Essential Qualifications: Post graduate degree (MD/MS/DNB) after MBBS with one-year experience. OR Post graduate Diploma in Medical Subjects after MBBS with two-year experience. OR MBBS degree with 4 years experience in medical subjects after MBBS degree.

Desirable: 2 years experience in epidemiology/demographic/Disease surveillance

Nature of duties: To execute/supervise the research activities of centre.

Consolidated Salary: Rs. 75,000-00 per month fixed without any allowances.

Tenure: One year

Place of work: MRHRU, Chandragiri, Chittoor District, AP.

Age Limit: Research Assistant, Admin Assistant: Not exceeding 30 years, Scientist-C: 40 years Relaxed upper age limit by two years in case of women candidates.

About Company

National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) was founded by Sir Robert McCarrison in the year 1918 as ‘Beri-Beri’ Enquiry Unit in a single room laboratory at the Pasteur Institute, Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. Within a short span of seven years, this unit blossomed into a 'Deficiency Disease Enquiry' and later in 1928, emerged as full-fledged 'Nutrition Research Laboratories' (NRL) with Dr. McCarrison as its first Director. It was shifted to Hyderabad in 1958.
