Roles and responsibilities:
Lead an internationally recognized program on innovations in Conservation Agriculture and nature-based solutions together with modern agronomic practices for cereal-based farming systems.
Expertise in cutting edge quantitative approaches and systems analysis to support partners in the design, evaluation and refining of key agricultural technical innovations.
Work with partners to develop an efficient and dynamic understanding of nutrient efficiency and climate resilient properties of sustainable cereal-based cropping.
Develop and publish on strategies for resource use efficiency using modern digital agriculture tools and techniques.
Develop and evaluate scaling models for transforming agriculture systems.
Provide leadership in capacity building and technical backstopping.
Lead multidisciplinary research in collaboration with national and international partners, including developing effective strategies for scaling up and co-designing impact pathways.
Communicate research results to a diverse audience, including scientists, change agents, policymakers, the media, and farmers.
Leadership in generating bilateral funding for sustainable cropping systems research.
Publish research findings in open access formats and ensure monitoring and evaluation and reporting efforts are met.
Ensure development and maintenance of scientific data management system, where open data standards are met, including uploading data sets, with appropriate meta-data.
Undertaking other related tasks as needed to advance project goals.
