Post Scale Level 2 (Gr. C) :- 02 (Anywhere on Western Railway)

Level 1 (Erstwhile Gr. D) :- 12 (02 Posts each for BCT, BRC, ADI, RTM, RJT & BVP Division)

Qualification

Level 2 (Rs. 19,900-63,200) : Passed 12th or its equivalent examination with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate. 50% marks are not required in case of SC / ST / Ex-servicemen/ Persons With Disabilities (PWD) candidates (40% & above)/ for the candidates of any category possessing higher qualifications i.e. Graduate/Post Graduate from a recognized University. Scouting/Guiding qualification is given in para 2.2 below.

Level 1 (Rs. 18,000-56,900) : 10th passed OR ITI OR equivalent OR National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT OR 10th passed plus ITI OR 10' passed plus National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT (For Civil Engineering/Mechanical/ Electrical / Signal & Telecom Departments) Scouting/Guiding qualification is given in para 2.2 below.

Pay Scale :

Post Scale Level 2 (Gr. C) :- Rs. 19,900-63,200

Level 1 (Erstwhile Gr. D) :- Rs. 18,000-56,900

Age Limit (As on 01-01-2019) :

For Level 2 (Rs. 19,900 — 63,200 [791 CPC]) :- Age 18 Years to 30 Years

For Level 1 (Rs. 18,000 — 56,900 [7th CPC]) :- Age 18 Years to 33 Years

EXAMINATION FEE:

(i) For all candidates except those mentioned in sub-para (ii) below : Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred Only) with a provision for refunding Rs. 400/- to those who are found eligible as per notification and actually appear in the Written Test (after deducting bank charges).

(ii) For candidates belonging to SC / ST / Ex-Servicemen / Persons With Disability (40% & above) / Women / Minorities* and Economically Backward Class** : Rs.250/- (Rupees Two Hundred Fifty Only) with a provision for refunding the same to those who are found eligible as per notification and actually appear in the Written Test (after deducting bank charges).

Selection Procedure: Written Test/ Documents Verification

Western Railway in its present form came into existence on 5th November, 1951 by the merger of its forerunner, the erstwhile Bombay, Baroda and Central India Railway (BB&CI),with other State Railways viz, Saurashtra, Rajputana and Jaipur. The BB&CI Railway was itself incorporated in 1855, starting with the construction of a 29 mile broad gauge track from Ankleshwar to Utran in Gujarat state on the West Coast. In 1864, the railway was extended up to Mumbai. Subsequently, the project was further extended beyond Baroda in a north easterly direction towards Godhra, Ratlam, Nagda and thereafter northwards towards Mathura to eventually link with the Great India Peninsula Railway, now Central Railway, which had already started operating in Mumbai in 1853. In 1883, a Metre Guage Railway system, initially linking Delhi with Agra, Jaipur and Ajmer, was established.
