Identify poorly written queries and work with end users via e-mail, one to one phone conversations and conference calls to discuss the queries and the business requirements so that an appropriate SQL solution can be recommended and coded
Use pertinent data and facts to identify and solve a range of problems within area of expertise.
Monitor System Alerts related to End Users queries
Work exclusively with Business End Users in writing and tuning queries. The majority of the queries are very complex in nature and the End Users being at various skill levels (i.e. Beginner - Data Scientist)
Prioritize and organize own work to meet deadlines
Provide explanations and information to others on topics within area of expertise
Analyze and investigate
Provide explanations and interpretations within area of expertise
Experience with multiple DBMS technologies (DB2, Teradata and SQL Server)
Experience with large Ad-Hoc Reporting Warehouses
Experience with Health Insurance Industry
Experience with translating Business Requirements into SQL Code
Understanding of various data models (Star Schema, Hierarchical and Relational)
Proficiency with reporting tools and assisting end users with reporting tools and End User connectivity support
Ability to review a complex database model in conjunction with business requirements and develop SQL to meet the requirements
Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
