JOB TITLE: Manager, Tax (role located in Gurgaon, India)
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: The International Tax Manager is responsible for income tax and indirect tax related filings and queries with external advisors, Global Tax Team and Indian tax authorities, as well keeping abreast of tax updates and changes to keep the Indian entities compliant with tax requirements and regulations. The International Tax Manager will also be responsible for the equivalent tax compliance in other jurisdictions assign to this role. Assist with international expansion, special projects, and tax audits.
Knowedge/Skills/Ability
In-depth knowledge of India taxation including income tax, Goods and Services Tax (GST),Tax Deducted at Source (TDS),and transfer pricing.
Knowledge of income tax, withholding tax, GST or Value Added Tax (VAT),and transfer pricing rules in other countries such as Israel, Egypt, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Japan strongly preferred.
Knowledge of the proper method for documenting transfer pricing, tax and accounting calculations and preparing supporting workpapers.
US GAAP, Indian GAAP & IFRS Experience Strongly Preferred.
Ability to work under minimal supervision, independently and/or as a member of a project team.
Ability to conduct tax technical research and analysis in order to provide a recommended solution.
Must be detailed oriented – with strong attention to accuracy and problem solving. “Following-up until resolved” skills are a must.
Excellent computer skills. Skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) are a must. Skills in Accounting software (Hyperion Financial Management) preferred.
A strong ability to communicate information and ideas both verbally and written so others can easily comprehend communication.
Ability to successfully work with other departments in the company and with teams outside India.
Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills.
Must be able to adapt quickly to change.
Ability to provide FANATICAL support.
Job Complexity
Review of local country tax returns and manage external local country tax advisors to ensure timely filing.
Prepare and review transfer pricing calculations and review of transfer pricing reports including coordination with external tax advisors.
Preparation and review of the quarterly local GAAP and US GAAP tax provision for international entities.
Perform tax research and analysis in order to provide a recommended solution and prepare written documentation to support tax positions taken.
Assist with notices and inquiries from taxing authorities as needed.
Assist with income tax or indirect tax audits as needed.
Assist with expansion into new international locations as needed.
Prepare calculations for tax and intercompany journal entry postings and perform account reconciliations.
Ongoing development of technical knowledge of applicable tax laws and regulations.
SUPERVISION: Operates under minimal supervision.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline required. Master's degree preferred. Typically 8 years professional accounting experience with 2-4 years in area being managed. Minimum 2 years leadership experience required. ERP experience a plus. Experience in Public Accounting, Big 4 and Corporate Accounting highly desired. Certified Public Accountant, Qualified ACA/CIMA/ACCA, or equivalent preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: General office environment. May require long periods sitting and viewing a computer monitor. Moderate levels of stress may occur. Ability to work extended hours during close.
