The Wildlife Institute of India, Dehra Dun invites application for Walk-in-interview for engaging one Senior Research Fellow (SRF) for Project entitled “Development of genetic database of captive elephants across India for welfare and management” purely on contractual basis for a period of one year with possible extension up to two years. 3. Essential Qualification: Minimum of 60% marks in M.Sc. in Zoology, Wildlife Science, Forestry, Life Science and other biological sciences with minimum 2 years of research experience in the field of molecular ecology/conservation genetics and publication in this field of research.
4. Desirable Qualification: Candidates with prior research experiences with STR marker-based molecular work in wildlife will be given preference.
5. Work Description: The selected candidate will be working on this project involving laboratory research. The job involves preparation of field kits and pan-India disbursement, sample management and data generation, data curation, analysis and overall project coordination.
6. Emoluments: Rs.35,000 plus admissible HRA
7. Duration: One year (initially) with possible extension of another year based on performance review.
8. The positions advertised are purely temporary/ contractual for the project period only and will stand abolished after completion of the project.
9. The tenure in the project will be governed by the Institute’s rules and regulations
