Applications are invited for one Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in the area of Natural Product based Drug Discovery, purely on contractual basis at Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Basic Sciences, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi.

1. Position: Senior Research Fellow

2. Salary: 35,000/- PM and 24% HRA

3. Tenure: One year

4. Project Title: Identification of MARK4 inhibitors from bioactive phytoconstituents of Bacopa monnieri (Brahmi): Therapeutic management of Alzheimer’s disease and neuro-inflammation animal model

5. Eligibility Criteria: M.Sc. in any stream of Biological Science with 55% marks and TWO Years of Research Experience.

6. Desirable: Candidates having experience in the area of Molecular & Cell Biology, Animal Physiology, Structural Biology, and Bioinformatics will be given preference.

7. Project Description: The first component of this project is based on the examination of different fractions of extract obtained from Brahmi as MARK4 inhibitors. The second components of this project highlights mechanism of MARK4-directed control of tau mediated aggregation clearance by using plant extract. Our integrated approach will be key in identifying novel MARK4 inhibitors with a therapeutic benefit for therapeutic management of MARK4- related tauopatheies, Alzheimer’s disease and neuro-inflammation.
