Senior Research Officer  job Position in  International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS) purely on contract basis.

Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. (submitted/awarded) in Population Studies / Demography / Statistics / Biostatistics / Mathematics / Economics OR M.Phil. degree in Population Studies / Demography / Statistics / Biostatistics / Mathematics /Economics and one-year experience of working in Demographic and/or Health related research project OR

Master’s degree in Population Studies / Demography / Statistics / Biostatistics / Mathematics / Economics and two-year experience of working in Demographic and/or Health related research project.

Desirable Qualifications:1. Experience in working with census data

2. Experience in generating maps through GIS/ArcGIS viz. able to produce data layers, maps, tables or reports using geographic information systems (GIS) technology.

3. Exposure to geo-spatial statistics

No. of Positions: 2

Salary: Rs 37,000 – 70,000/- per month (Consolidated) as per qualification/experience

Duration: 3 months (likely to be extended till the tenure of the project)

It was established in Mumbai in July 1956, till July 1970 it was known as the Demographic Training and Research Centre (DTRC) and till 1985 it was known as the International Institute for Population Studies (IIPS).
