The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for design and development of Video Conferencing Software in an embedded environment for video conferencing products. This hands-on development work will be done on proprietary hardware platforms. Primary duties will include design and development of Video Conferencing Software that will run on an embedded Windows or Android platform. Software developed by the selected candidate must interface to new and existing hardware, firmware, and software. The selected candidate must be able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Education and Experience:
BSEE/BSCS or equivalent with 5+ years design and development experience with Video conferencing technology.
5+ years of experience with the C++ programming language, using Object Oriented Design.
In depth knowledge and practical application of video conferencing technologies and protocols (H.323, SIP, H.264, H.265, etc).
Good understanding of VoIP protocols, for example, RTP, SRTP, SIP, and TLS.
Experience with POSIX Threads, Semaphores, Message Queues, Socket Communications, Scripting and Makefile development.
Experience using Emulators, and debuggers to locate and solve firmware problems.
Experience with multi-tasking deterministic firmware development.
Experience using source control tools like GIT, Microsoft Team Foundation, etc.
Strong English language verbal communication and documentation skills.
Good organizational and teamwork skills.
Ability to work in a small fast paced team to meet challenging project deadlines.
Desired Skills:
General knowledge of network communications protocols like TCP/IP, UDP.
Broad knowledge of available open source utilities and libraries.
State machine design experience.
