IIT Madras jobs - Senior Technician

Applications are invited for the temporary post of Senior Technician to work in Common Instruments Facility in the Centre for Industrial Consultancy and Sponsored Research (ICSR),IIT Madras.

1. Name of the Post: Senior Technician

2. Qualification: Masters in Science (MSc.) preferred. B.Sc with Five years operating and regular maintenance ofinstrument, SEM & AFM

3. Experience: More than 1-2 years of experience in operating AND regular maintenance of Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and Atomic Force Microscope (AFM),with hands on experience in research laboratory/ industry R&D set-up.

4. Skills: Sample preparation for SEM & AFM; Conducting experiments for users, Recording data & Maintaining log and data records, Interaction with users, Routine day to day maintenance of instrument, Supporting scientific investigations and experiments, Demonstrating procedures, Maintaining, calibrating, cleaning and testing sterility of the equipment, Providing technical support, Presenting results to senior staff, Ordering and maintaining stock and resources

5. Required Personal attributes and abilities: Strong attention to detail and follow protocols, Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, Time management skills to prioritize and meet deadlines, Ability to work independently and as a member of a team, Flexibility to work in a changing and fast paced environment, Drive, determination and ability to hit aggressive milestones/deadlines
