Software Development Engineer in Test II

Overview

• Analyse code review reports and development quality to make sure best practices are being followed
• Develops/monitors quality gating and automation strategy for a given project looking at code coverage and API vs UI level functionality
• Possesses a strong knowledge of programming, tools, architecture patterns, and BDD
• Ensures Performance and Scalability for applications and platforms
• This position requires firm knowledge and hands on software development to work closely with developers and leads to build test scenarios, test infrastructure, and perform code analysis/review to enable development quality
  

Responsibilities

• Works closely with software engineers to build quality by ensuring proper test and code coverage, configuration quality, monitoring, early performance testing
• Develops frameworks and configurations; reviews analysis to ensure adherence to quality standards;
• Supports quality/test strategy creation, testing, and automation
• Develops and executes test plans for a single application; independently generates test data and recognizes test environment preparation needs
• Participates in project-level reviews, walkthroughs and inspections; conducts test reviews for plans, requirements, cases, and automation
• Raises process improvement opportunities, defines and implements simple automation efforts, and documents automated testing solutions
• Designs and codes test automation solutions for user journeys with Test and Development team
• Oversees and provides technical support to junior team members
• May manage smaller project/initiatives as an experienced individual contribute with specialized knowledge within assigned discipline;
• Assists in the evaluation of manual testing tools for automation opportunities
• Understands automated test suites with code, front end GUI automation, service layer testing as it applies to environment and test date usage.
• Translates complex system requirements and specs into test requirements and testing methods
• Comprehends user stories to understand task items per story in the context of all levels of testing (unit, functional, integration, and regression).
• This position will be responsible for driving best practices around quality, functional testing, exploratory testing, and adoption of development services (development collaboration, continuous integration and delivery, etc.),acceptance test automation, quality gating reviews for promotion of software, and continuous integration.
  

Experiences

• Experience in advanced code development, quality review software development, and automation frameworks
• Successfully developed high quality test strategies and text execution; recognized test environment preparation needs
• Experience in agile and waterfall testing methodologies and tools, unit and integration testing, and data virtualization tools
• Demonstrated ability to communicate application level directions across departments
• Bachelor/Master’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
• Must have experience and should have hands on experience on the below listed skillset.
• Solid experience in building and using automation frameworks using technologies: Java, JBehave, Soap UI/Pro, REST, JSON, XML, Selenium, Rest Assured
• Experience on creating good acceptance and integration test automation scripts and integrate with Continuous integration (Jenkins/Bamboo) and code coverage tools to ensure higher code coverage.
• Experience with databases, including ability to write efficient SQL queries and Stored Procedures.
• Exposure on Security Testing Tool.
• Experience of working with other developers to ensure that systems are designed for reliability, performance and testability.
• Domain knowledge in Core Payments specifically around Knowledge in testing real time transactions-preferably Authorization systems
