Role/Department Description

FactSet is developing a platform for clients in the advisory space who need custom tailored solutions to analyze investments and build optimal portfolios. Core functionalities cover detailed risk and return metrics, enhanced financial product screening and peer group comparison. Portfolio construction is driven by a number of flexible rules that can be chained in a multi-step allocation process. The solution is fully digital, readily usable by standard or custom portals.

Responsibilities

60% Develop, test and deploy software Additional features and/or content is released to solution end users.
10% Continued learning through additional trainings and code review sessions.
Improved quality and productivity of output.
10% Communicate and collaborate with product developers, direct manager and engineering peers to develop the correct solutions
Effective project planning and development of expected solutions.
10% Respond to bugs and requests for product development through internal systems
Effective engagement in development and feedback life cycle
10% Participate in design discussions and brainstorming of ideas to improve and develop new features.
Gain broader proficiency for the product and demonstrate ability to contribute to forward direction.

Required Skills

3-5 years of professional Java experience
Proficiency with Object-Oriented design principles
Proficiency with building Web Services
Proficiency building RESTful services
Experience with multi-threading programming
Preferable knowledge with Sql/NoSql frameworks
Ability to work as part of a geographically diverse team
Proven ability to adapt to changes in requirements and learn new tools and practices where needed
Ability to contribute to code review feedback and contribute to forward design ideas
Ability to communicate effectively with peers within the organization
